U.S. senators will vote tonight on advancing the stablecoin bill
Online reports, Semafor reported that a person familiar with the matter said that after a previous attempt failed, U.S. senators are expected to vote again tonight to advance legislation to set rules for stablecoins. Another person familiar with the matter said Senate Minority Leader Schumer held a conference call with all caucuses on Sunday to discuss the unreleased text, including reforms sought by Democrats. But the adjustments are not enough to win the support of progressives such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. He issued a memo stating that the latest version of the ban did not target relevant digital assets and "contributed to Trump's cryptocurrency corruption." A third person familiar with the matter said negotiations were ongoing on potential additional amendments and banks were privately expressing their concerns, including the ability of issuers to pay interest.
