On May 1, Bloomberg reported that Varun Kao, a quantitative analyst at Bridgewater Associates, recently joined Bitwise Asset Management Inc., a San Francisco-based crypto asset management company, Become its quantitative developer in New York. According to his LinkedIn page, Bitwise also hired Charles McLellan from Bank of New York Mellon as assistant portfolio manager and Claudia Beranzoli, who previously worked at Amundi, as assistant legal counsel. Overall, Bitwise recently hired 8 new positions in the United States and 2 new positions in Europe, expanding its total employee count to 105.
