Bank of America: Emerging markets may welcome massive inflows of funds early next year

According to online reports, Bank of America said that as more and more signs show that emerging economies are resilient, emerging markets may welcome larger capital inflows early next year, which will drive further transfers of funds from U.S. assets. "People will become more optimistic early next year as they confirm that the impact of trade tensions on the economy will be limited." said David Hauner, head of global emerging markets fixed income strategy at Bank of America. "Even small, diversified investment flows from the United States can have very significant effects." Hauner has remained bullish on emerging markets since the first quarter. He believes this asset class will benefit from the weakening US dollar, the room for further interest rates by central banks around the country, and the historic underallocation of global funds to emerging markets. Hauner said Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey and Poland will be the main beneficiaries of foreign capital inflows. (Jin Shi)
