Onvo, the mass-market sub-brand of NIO Inc (NYSE: NIO), may soon update its L60 SUV (sport utility vehicle) as its first model celebrates its first anniversary.

Marking its one-year anniversary on September 19, the L60 is poised to evolve and become even better, the Nio sub-brand said today in an article published on its official WeChat account.

"More exciting highlights are coming -- stay tuned!" Onvo wrote.

The WeChat post did not disclose further details about the updated L60, instead focusing on the midsize electric SUV's performance over the past year.

Since September last year, the L60 has delivered over 65,000 units cumulatively, ranking among the top three in pure electric vehicle sales, Onvo said.

The article also highlighted the L60's lightweight body, 900-volt high-voltage system, convenient battery swap and charging experience, and safety features.

Last week, a spy photo suspected to be of the updated L60 circulated on Chinese social media, suggesting the SUV's exterior may remain largely unchanged.

Onvo president Shen Fei recently mentioned that the updated L60 will add dual wireless phone charging panels for front seats -- currently only the driver-side panel supports wireless charging.

The model will also gain rear seat ventilation and a new gold paint option, according to Shen.

Nio launched the Onvo brand on May 15, 2024, and officially rolled out the L60 on September 19 to compete with models including Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.

Onvo formally launched its second model, the L90, on July 31, commencing deliveries of this large SUV the following day on August 1.

In August, Onvo delivered a record 16,434 vehicles, including 10,575 L90s and 5,859 L60s, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Cumulative L60 deliveries reached 64,458 units by the end of August.

Including the battery pack, the L60 currently starts at RMB 206,900, while the L90 begins at RMB 265,800. Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, their starting prices are RMB 149,900 and RMB 179,800 respectively.
