Internet reports, Le Monde reported that French police successfully rescued the father of a kidnapped cryptocurrency entrepreneur in Essonne Province, south of Paris on Saturday night. It is reported that the victim was forcibly taken away by four masked men in the 14th arrondissement of Paris last Thursday. Reports said that the kidnappers cut off a finger of the victim and demanded a ransom of US$5.6 million to US$7.95 million (about 5 million to 7 million euros) in cryptocurrency. Police arrested five suspects in their twenties during the rescue operation. The Paris prosecutor's office said the victim was the father of a cryptocurrency marketing company operator registered in Malta. This incident is the third cryptocurrency-related kidnapping case in France this year. In January this year, David Balland, co-founder of hardware wallet maker Ledger, suffered a similar kidnapping. Prior to the rescue operation, the victims 'families did not pay any ransom.
