Canadian PM: 'There is not much evidence' that the United States is willing to reach a deal without additional tariffs

Internet reports that Canadian Prime Minister Carney said on July 15 local time that U.S. President Trump seems to be obsessed with tariffs, and any trade agreement reached with the United States may include accepting a certain percentage of tariffs on exports. Carney said there is currently "not much evidence" that the United States is willing to reach an agreement without imposing some tariffs. He believes that most countries may have to accept a certain level of benchmark tariffs imposed by the United States on their goods. Carney also revealed that negotiations with the United States are expected to "intensify" in the coming weeks.
