E3 and EU statement: Reiterate long-standing concerns about Iran's expansion of nuclear program and welcome U.S. participation in peace talks
Internet reports that after concluding talks with Iran, the E3 (Britain, France and Germany) and EU foreign ministers issued statements saying that all parties should avoid taking measures that lead to further escalation of the regional situation. Urge a negotiated solution to ensure Iran never acquires or possesses nuclear weapons. Reiterate long-standing concerns about Iran's expansion of its nuclear program, which it believes has no credible civilian purpose. Participants supported continued talks and welcomed the continued efforts of the United States to find a negotiated solution. Willing to meet again in the future.
