Trump suspends export restrictions on Nvidia H20 chips to China

According to online reports, according to NPR, after having dinner with Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun in Mar-a-Lago, President Trump decided to suspend originally planned restrictions on the export of Nvidia H20 chips to China. According to people familiar with the matter, this policy change is related to Nvidia's commitment to increase investment in AI data centers in the United States. H20 is the most advanced AI chip that American companies can currently legally export to China. China technology companies have hoarded about US$16 billion in such chips in the first quarter of this year, expecting U.S. restrictions. Experts say the decision is a major victory for China, which still lacks domestic chip production and performance. U.S. lawmakers expressed concern about this, believing that every day's delay provides rival countries with an opportunity to reserve technology.
