New IM LS6 gets 10,000 firm orders in 27 minutes after launching.
SAIC‘s IM Motors has officially launched its all-new LS6, a mid-to-large coupe SUV, offering both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and pure electric vehicle (BEV) powertrains. With a starting price of 197,900 yuan (27,500 USD) and up to nine configurations, the LS6 has secured over 10,000 firm orders within 27 minutes of its market debut on September 10, according to IM Motors.
The new LS6 largely retains the design language of its predecessor. Notable changes include newly designed T-shaped headlights and the relocation of the IM Motors logo from the front bumper to the hood.
The LS6 measures 4937mm in length, 1988mm in width, and 1673mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2960mm. The vehicle is available in six exterior colours.

Inside, the driver’s side features a floating dual-screen setup, while the passenger side features a dedicated screen. The integrated driver’s screen offers 5K resolution, and the passenger screen provides a 3K resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Drivers can choose between two multi-function steering wheel styles: a traditional flat-bottom design or a semi-circular steering wheel, similar to Tesla’s Yoke. Other features include a floating audio unit, physical buttons below the central screen, dual wireless charging pads, dual cup holders, and a hollowed-out T-shaped console for expanded storage. Further amenities include an 11-litre dual-door in-car refrigerator and an electric sunshade.

The LS6 is equipped with the IM Motors’ Lingxi digital chassis, featuring upgraded hardware such as the new Continental Group’s MKC2 steer-by-wire braking system, enabling a 100km/h to 0 braking distance of 33.6 meters. The Lingxi Digital Chassis 2.0 also incorporates two-way 18° four-wheel steering, resulting in a turning radius of 4.79 meters.
For assisted driving, the IM LS6 features a 520-line LiDAR system and an assisted driving solution built on Nvidia Thor. Developed in collaboration with Momenta, this system offers “nationwide mapless NOA” (Navigate on Autopilot), supporting highway ETC passage, roundabout navigation, and valet parking function.
As the first mass-produced vehicle to feature IM Motors’ “Stellar” Super Extended Range system, the EREV LS6 is available with 52kWh and 66kWh “Freevoy Max” battery packs. These batteries, jointly developed by IM Motors and CATL, are designed for extended-range vehicles. The EREV models boast a CLTC pure electric range exceeding 450km (370km for the 52kWh pack) and a combined range exceeding 1500km.
Built on an 800V platform, the EREV LS6 supports a peak charging power of 268kW, adding 310km of range in 15 minutes. Even at a low 16% battery level, it can achieve 275.5kW charging power, and winter charging starts at 170 kW. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) version delivers a maximum system power of 500 kW (670 hp) and peak torque of 800 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 3.48 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version achieves 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds.
The pure electric LS6 offers both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor version provides a maximum motor power of 245 kW (329 hp) and peak torque of 430 Nm, paired with a 76kWh LFP battery for a CLTC range of 650km. The dual-motor version, equipped with a 103kWh LFP battery, achieves a CLTC range of 750km and features a dual-motor system with a maximum output of 500 kW (670 hp).
