Consensus Sys: MetaMask has a serious Bug that causes excessive writing of SSD. The fix will be released soon
According to online reports, Consensus Sys confirmed that its MetaMask browser extension has a serious Bug, causing users to write data at an abnormally high frequency on solid state drives (SSDs), which can reach 500GB per day and accumulate as high as 25TB in three months, seriously shortening the service life of SSDs. This problem mainly affects users of Chromium kernel browsers such as Chrome and Edge, who will continue to write in the background even if they do not use their wallet. Some users reported that this Bug has consumed about 50% of their SSD life. AgreSys said it is aware of the problem and is actively investigating it. A fix will be released "soon" and will reduce the frequency of data writing and the number of data acquisition.
