US Treasury Secretary: The more tariff revenue, the more difficult it is to overturn Trump's trade policies
According to Internet reports, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said in an interview with Fox Business Channel on Tuesday that as tariff revenue continues to flow into the U.S. treasury, if tariff lawsuits from lower courts are finally appealed to the Supreme Court, the growing fiscal revenue will make it difficult for the Supreme Court to make a ruling that is not conducive to the Trump administration. "The more revenue we have, the more difficult it will be for the Supreme Court to rule against us," Besent said. The statement was in response to a case being heard by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC. The case questioned the legitimacy of Trump's so-called "reciprocal" tariffs, as well as another set of tariff measures imposed on China, Canada and Mexico in February this year.
