UBS: High-net-worth clients are withdrawing from US dollar assets and turning to cryptocurrencies, China assets and gold
According to online reports, Amy Lo, co-head of Asian wealth management at UBS, said that UBS's high-net-worth clients are increasingly withdrawing from US dollar assets and turning to gold, cryptocurrencies and China assets. "Gold is very popular right now," Lo said in an interview with Yvonne Man at the Bloomberg New Voices event in Hong Kong on Tuesday. She pointed out that trade tensions between China and the United States have prompted investors to start diversifying their otherwise "quite U.S. -centric" asset allocation; in addition to looking for other currency assets, investors are also investing more money in cryptocurrencies, commodities and alternative assets. "Volatility will definitely continue." Lo added.
