Anthropic is the first to release Opus 4.1, a more powerful AI model
Online reports that as OpenAI is about to launch the long-awaited GPT-5, Anthropic will be the first to release its most powerful AI model, Opus 4.1, on Tuesday. The company said Opus 4.1 has greater capabilities in programming, research and data analysis, and performs better at handling complex multi-step problems, making it more capable of intelligent agent-type tasks. This update marks a shift in the company's strategy to focus more on incremental improvements to the coding model while launching large versions of the model. Mike Krieger, chief product officer at Anthropic, said: "In the past, we have been too focused on releasing major upgrades. Now we are more focused on making models continue to get better in all aspects-whether it's programming, reasoning, or autonomous task execution."
