Iran's central bank requires domestic crypto trading platforms to limit operating hours to 10:00-20:00
On June 19, it was reported that after Iran's largest cryptocurrency trading platform suffered a cyber attack resulting in losses of more than US$90 million, the Central Bank of Iran has ordered all domestic cryptocurrency exchanges to limit their business hours. The new rules limit trading hours to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., in what appears to be a direct response to the hacking of Nobitex, a move aimed at strengthening oversight and reducing the likelihood of future incidents, especially during off-work hours where cybersecurity response times are slow.
