China's new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales rebounded last week, reversing the decline seen in the first week of September.
From September 1-14, China's passenger NEV retail sales totaled 438,000 units, up 6 percent year-on-year and up 10 percent month-on-month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
By comparison, passenger NEV retail sales from September 1-7 totaled 181,000 units, down 3 percent year-on-year and down 1 percent month-on-month.
Year-to-date, China's cumulative passenger NEV retail sales reached 8.01 million units, up 25 percent year-on-year.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs from September 1-14 totaled 447,000 units, a 10 percent increase year-on-year and a 21 percent rise month-on-month, according to the CPCA.
Year-to-date, China's cumulative passenger NEV wholesale sales reached 9.39 million units, up 32 percent year-on-year.
From September 1 to 14, China's total passenger vehicle retail sales reached 732,000 units, down 4 percent year-on-year but up 6 percent month-on-month.
Year-to-date, China's cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles reached 15.5 million units, up 9 percent year-on-year.
This indicates that China's NEV retail penetration rate stood at 59.8 percent during September 1-14 and 51.67 percent year-to-date.
During the first week of September, September 1-7, China's average daily passenger vehicle retail sales were 43,483 units, down 10 percent year-on-year and down 4 percent month-on-month.
In the second week of September, September 8-14, China's average daily passenger vehicle retail sales reached 61,142 units, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 15 percent month-on-month.
From September 1-14, China's total passenger vehicle wholesale sales came in at 774,000 units, down 3 percent year-on-year but up 18 percent month-on-month.
During September 1-7, China's average daily wholesale sales of passenger vehicles were 43,908 units, down 5 percent year-on-year but up 9 percent month-on-month.
From September 8-14, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles were 66,634 units, down 1 percent year-on-year but up 26 percent compared to the same period last month.
Year-to-date wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in China reached 18.82 million units, up 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
