JPMorgan Chase completes its first tokenized U.S. Treasury settlement on public blockchain

Internet reports, TokenFi reported that JPMorgan Chase, one of the world's largest banks, completed its first transaction settlement involving U.S. Treasury bonds on the public blockchain. The transaction leverages Ondo Finance's tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds and connects JPMorgan's internal private systems to the public Ethereum network through Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This marks the beginning of traditional financial institutions processing real-world assets (RWA) on public blockchain. According to DeFiLlama data, the total value of real-world asset tokenization locks has exceeded US$12 billion, distributed on more than 80 different platforms. BlackRock's tokenized money market funds currently hold nearly $3 billion, while Ondo Finance's U.S. Treasury-backed tokens are also surging in demand.
