Uber to acquire Taiwan's Crown Motors to expand in Asia
According to Taiwanese media reports, Uber will acquire Taiwan's taxi operator Crown Fleet
According to a Taiwanese media report on Monday, Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) plans to acquire Crown Taxi, a well-known taxi operator in Taiwan, to further expand its presence in the Asian market.
The transaction amount has not been disclosed yet, and the acquisition still needs to be reviewed by the competent authorities.
Crown Taxi is one of the largest taxi operators in Taiwan and has established a partnership with Uber since 2017.
In recent years, Uber has actively acquired local taxi companies around the world to increase its operating scale in overseas markets. Earlier this year, Uber also acquired BluSmart, an electric taxi service in India.
Despite the market's concern about the increasing competition in self-driving cars (robotaxi), Uber has responded calmly, and its stock price has risen by nearly 38% since 2025.
