BYD's (HKG: 1211) premium brand Denza will officially launch the N8L large six-seat SUV (sport utility vehicle) on October 28, according to a Weibo post today by Li Hui, the brand's general manager.

Denza commenced pre-sales for the N8L on September 26, offering two variants starting at RMB 319,800 ($44,890) and RMB 349,800 respectively.

Targeting the family vehicle market, the model emphasizes safety, comfort, and agile handling.

The large six-seat plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) measures 5,200 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm.

It can be viewed as a slightly scaled-down version of the Denza N9 flagship SUV launched in March, which measures 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

The N8L is equipped with three electric motors: the front motor delivers a peak power of 200 kW, while the two rear motors each provide a peak power of 180 kW.

Its engine displacement is 1,995 ml, delivering 152 kW of power.

This powertrain enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds.

The N8L utilizes BYD blade batteries specifically designed for PHEVs, offering a CLTC battery range of 230 km. With a full tank and fully charged battery, the combined range reaches 1,300 km.

Like many other EV models in China, it features an onboard refrigerator, a rear-seat entertainment screen, and integration of the DeepSeek AI large model within the cabin.

Denza's current lineup includes the D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), Z9 sedan series, N9 SUV, and N7 SUV.

The brand sold 12,407 units in September, marking a 20.47 percent year-on-year increase and a 3.45 percent month-on-month rise, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Denza's September sales comprised 8,944 D9 units, 841 Z9 series units, 2,524 N9 units, and 98 N7 units.
