Arcfox, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), has commenced pre-sales for its updated Alpha T5 SUV (sport utility vehicle), which is the brand's first offering available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.

Arcfox announced today it is accepting pre-orders for the all-new Alpha T5, with pre-sales pricing starting at RMB 123,800 ($17,340).

The BAIC unit is offering six variants of the updated Alpha T5 during the pre-sales period, including two EREV variants and four BEV variants.

The EREV variants start at RMB 123,800 and RMB 135,800. BEV variants are priced at RMB 126,800, RMB 138,800, RMB 156,800, and RMB 162,800.

The all-new Alpha T5 measures 4,760 mm in length, 1,936 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm. This represents a 70 mm increase in length compared to its predecessor, while other dimensions remain unchanged.

The all-new Alpha T5 EREV marks Arcfox's first extended-range electric vehicle and the inaugural model equipped with BAIC's Shenqing extended-range system.

Its powertrain delivers 200 kW peak power and 360 Nm peak torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

The new Alpha T5 EREV offers a battery range of 215 km. With a full tank and fully charged battery, its combined range reaches 1,215 km, according to Arcfox.

The new Alpha T5 BEV utilizes batteries supplied by CATL, built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform supporting 5C ultra-fast charging, with a maximum range of 705 kilometers.

Arcfox ranks among China's earliest NEV startups. While it reported monthly sales figures in 2020, sales disclosures have become scarce since 2021 amid weak performance.

Its most recent new model launch occurred just one month prior, introducing the T1 compact EV on September 11 with a starting price of only RMB 62,800.

The previously available Alpha T5 BEV had a starting price range of RMB 119,800 to RMB 167,800.
