U.S. Supreme Court refuses to speed up Trump tariff case
Internet reports that the U.S. Supreme Court refused to include legal challenges against Trump's extensive tariffs into ultra-fast proceedings. On Friday, the Supreme Court rejected scheduling requests from two educational toy manufacturers seeking to overturn Trump's multiple import tariffs. The Supreme Court's rejection means the U.S. government will have the regular 30 days to file a full response, rather than the shorter time limit requested by the companies in Tuesday's filing. Two companies, Learning Resources Inc. and hand 2mind Inc., want the Supreme Court to take the extraordinary step of hearing the case without waiting for a federal appeals court decision. The Trump administration said the Supreme Court should allow the normal appeal process to continue.
