Russian expert: Russia-US leaders 'summit in Alaska may propose a ceasefire plan in Ukraine
According to online reports, Dmitry Suslov, deputy director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the Russian Higher School of Economics and an expert at the Valdai Club, told Sputnik News Agency that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Trump may propose a plan for ceasefire conditions in Ukraine after their meeting in Alaska. Suslov said: "We should not expect to reach a ceasefire agreement now, but should focus on the ceasefire conditions jointly reached by Russia and the United States and push for final negotiations to completely resolve the conflict." The plan may include the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, while maintaining the existing boundary lines in Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblast as the final border, and the possible withdrawal of Russian troops from Sumya, Kharkiv Oblast and parts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
