Li Auto Aug deliveries breakdown: EREVs continue decline, Mega nears record high

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) saw further declines in deliveries of its L series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) in August, while the Li Mega electric MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) continued its upward trajectory.
The company's current lineup -- including the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, Li L9 in the L series, Li Mega, and Li i8 pure-electric SUV -- delivered a total of 28,529 vehicles in August.
The Li L6 delivered 11,217 units in August, making it Li Auto's top-selling model, according to data compiled by CnEVPost from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Monthly deliveries for the SUV fell 54.95 percent year-on-year, marking its third consecutive month of year-on-year decline and a 24.36 percent decrease from July.
The Li L6, Li Auto's most affordable model with a starting price of RMB 249,800 ($35,060), accounted for 39.32 percent of Li Auto's August deliveries.
From January to August, the Li L6 delivered 122,401 units, contributing 46.51 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries of 234,669 during the same period.
Data released by the company on September 1 showed it delivered 28,529 vehicles in August, down 40.72 percent year-on-year and down 7.17 percent month-on-month.
The Li L7 delivered 5,381 units in August, down 47.79 percent year-on-year and down 13.72 percent month-on-month. The model accounted for 18.86 percent of Li Auto's August deliveries.
From January to August, the Li L7 delivered 58,992 units, down 30.77 percent year-on-year, accounting for 22.41 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries during the period.
The Li L8 delivered 2,639 units in August, down 51.81 percent year-on-year and down 14.54 percent month-on-month. The model contributed 9.25 percent to Li Auto's monthly deliveries.
From January to August, the Li L8 delivered 33,495 units, down 31.77 percent year-on-year, contributing 12.73 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries during that period.
The Li L9 delivered 3,959 units in August, down 40.88 percent year-on-year but up 5.29 percent month-on-month. The model contributed 13.88 percent of Li Auto's monthly deliveries.
From January to August, the Li L9 delivered 34,357 units, down 40.62 percent year-on-year, contributing 13.88 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries during that period.
The Li Mega delivered 3,121 units in August, its second-highest monthly total on record, accounting for 10.94 percent of Li Auto's monthly deliveries. This represents a 318.36 percent year-on-year increase and a 10.83 percent rise from July.
From January to August, the Li Mega delivered 11,742 units, accounting for 4.46 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries during this period.
Li Auto launched the updated Li Mega on April 23 and rolled out the refreshed L series EREVs on May 8.
Deliveries of the updated L series commenced on May 9, while deliveries of the updated Li Mega began on May 23.
The Li i8, Li Auto's first pure-electric SUV model, delivered 2,212 units in August.
Li Auto launched the Li i8 on July 29, with deliveries starting on August 20.
The company aims to deliver 8,000 to 10,000 Li i8 units by the end of September.
