Nio delivers record 34,749 cars in Sept, buoyed by strong performance of Onvo and Firefly

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) achieved record vehicle deliveries last month, fueled mainly by robust performance from its Onvo and Firefly brands.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 34,749 vehicles in September, marking its second consecutive month of record-breaking results, according to data released today.
This represents a 64.06 percent increase from the 21,181 units delivered in the same month last year and an 11.00 percent rise from August's 31,305 units.
The Nio main brand delivered 13,728 vehicles in September, marking a three-month high. This reflects a 30.43 percent increase from August, though it represents a 32.54 percent year-on-year decline.
Onvo delivered 15,246 vehicles in September, demonstrating sustained strong momentum, though down 7.23 percent from August's record high of 16,434 units.
Firefly achieved a record 5,775 deliveries in September, a 32.88 percent increase from August's 4,346 units.
The company has entered a robust new product cycle in recent months, with the third-generation ES8 SUV from the Nio main brand and Onvo's L90 SUV proving popular and driving sales.
The third-generation ES8 was launched on September 20 and began deliveries on September 21, with its annual production capacity of 40,000 units already sold out.
The L90 was launched on July 31 with deliveries commencing August 1. On September 29, the SUV reached its 20,000th delivery milestone.
Record third-quarter deliveries
In the third quarter, Nio Inc delivered a record 87,071 vehicles, falling within its guidance range of 87,000 to 91,000 units, though near the lower end.
The quarterly deliveries surged 40.77 percent year-on-year and rose 20.84 percent quarter-on-quarter.
By brand, Onvo's contribution to Nio Inc's quarterly deliveries surpassed the Nio main brand for the first time.
The Nio brand delivered 36,928 vehicles in the third quarter, down 39.49 percent year-on-year and down 21.65 percent quarter-on-quarter.
Onvo delivered 37,656 vehicles in the third quarter, a 120.46 percent increase from the second quarter.
Firefly delivered 12,487 vehicles in the third quarter, up 59.21 percent from the second quarter.
Year-to-date performance
Year-to-date, Nio Inc has delivered 201,221 vehicles, a 34.79 percent increase year-on-year.
The Nio main brand has delivered 111,373 vehicles year-to-date, a 24.98 percent decrease year-on-year.
Onvo has delivered 69,518 vehicles year-to-date, while Firefly has delivered 20,330 vehicles.
