Geely Galaxy debuts Starshine 6 hybrid sedan with ultra-low fuel consumption

Geely Galaxy debuted the Starshine 6 hybrid sedan to compete with affordable family sedans in China including BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Qin Plus.
The Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) sub-brand introduced the Starshine 6 at an event in Qufu, Shandong, eastern China today, targeting it as the first car for young buyers and the preferred choice for mainstream families.
The Starshine 6 measures 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm.
It features Geely's next-generation Leishen AI hybrid 2.0 technology, delivering a battery range of up to 125 kilometers.
It has a 1.5L engine producing 82 kW of maximum power, and supports a top speed of 180 km/h.
Geely Galaxy claimed the Starshine 6 achieves the world's lowest fuel consumption per 100 kilometers in the 2L class.
The model utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Chinese battery manufacturers CALB and Rept Battero Energy.
It incorporates Geely's G-Pilot H3 driver assistance system, supporting features including parking assistance and urban commuting pilot assistance.
The Starshine 6 features a 10.2-inch dashboard and a 14.6-inch central screen, running the Flyme Auto cockpit system.
Pricing for the Starshine 6 is currently unavailable, though it is expected to be positioned below the Starshine 8's range of RMB 125,800 ($17,630) to RMB 165,800.
The larger Starshine 8 is another hybrid sedan in Geely Galaxy's lineup, measuring 5,018 mm in length, 1,918 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,928 mm.
The Starry 6 is one of several new models Geely Galaxy has intensively unveiled as the brand has seen robust growth over the past year.
Geely Galaxy saw record sales of 110,666 units in August, a 172.59 percent year-on-year increase and a 16.44 percent rise from July.
Driven by Geely Galaxy's performance, Geely Auto sold 250,167 vehicles in August, marking its second-highest monthly sales figure ever, trailing only January's 266,737 units.
