During the phone call, senior employees of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Agency (FinCEN) hinted to government prosecutors that non-escrow agreements may not qualify for money services businesses, which are a key element of certain allegations. Prosecutors in the Samourai case downplayed the allegations, saying the call had been fairly disclosed before trial and represented the employee's "informal personal opinion." Previously, it was reported that the developer of the Bitcoin privacy wallet Samourai Wallet was denied the accusation, and the case is still in a legal deadlock.
