Analysis: Britain's ban on retail investors buying cryptocurrency ETN reverses, indicating it is striving to become a cryptocurrency hub "

Internet reports that the UK's financial regulator has lifted the ban on retail investors issuing cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes (cETNs), a move welcomed by industry leaders and seen as a step towards integrating the UK with the global cryptocurrency market and consolidating its centrality of digital assets. On Friday, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) lifted its ban on retail investors entering cETN, and the regulatory changes will take effect on October 8. The ban was implemented in January 2021 on the grounds that the market was highly volatile and "lack of legitimate investment demand." The lifting of the cETN ban reflects a shift in the way regulators handle crypto assets. FCA executives said in a statement that the decision reflects market development and people's deepening understanding of crypto-related products.
