Bitfinex: Tokenization may unleash growth potential in Latin American capital markets
Online reports that according to Bitfinex's Securities Market Inclusion Report released on Thursday, systemic inefficiencies, including high fees, complex regulations, and structural issues such as technical barriers and high start-up costs, are slowing investment and hindering capital inflows into Latin American capital markets, a phenomenon known as "liquidity delays." The region's liquidity delay problem may be solved by adopting real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. RWA refers to financial and other tangible assets minted on untamperable blockchain ledgers, thereby improving investor accessibility and trading opportunities. Bitfinex said that financial products monetized on the blockchain can improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency, including reducing financing issuance costs by up to 4% and shortening time to market by up to 90 days. The company said tokenization could expand investors 'access channels and create more trading opportunities.
