Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm has been tried in federal court in Manhattan

The criminal trial of Tornado Cash co-founder and developer Roman Storm officially began in Manhattan federal court on Monday, the Internet reported. A jury will determine whether he knew and assisted in launder more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency, including funds related to the North Korean Lazarus hacking group. Roman Storm currently faces charges of conspiracy to launder money, violating U.S. sanctions regulations and operating an unlicensed money transfer business. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 45 years in prison. He himself has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to last for four weeks.
