Geely has officially launched the Galaxy A7 plug-in hybrid sedan in China. The model, based on the GEA new energy architecture, is offered in seven variants with prices ranging from 89,800 yuan to 125,800 yuan (approximately 12,300 to 17,190 USD). The starting price is 3000 USD lower than its pre-sale price.

The Galaxy A7 is equipped with the “Geely EM AI Super Hybrid 2.0” system, combining a 1.5-litre engine with a maximum output of 82 kW and an electric motor producing up to 175 kW. Two battery options are available: an 8.5 kWh unit for 70 km CLTC electric range and an 18.4 kWh unit for 150 km CLTC range. The model’s CLTC-rated fuel consumption in depleted mode is 2.67 L/100 km for the 70 km version and 2.8 L/100 km for the 150 km version. The larger battery variant supports 37 kW DC fast charging, replenishing from 30% to 80% in about 18 minutes. Geely claims the combined range with a full tank and battery exceeds 2,100 km.

Exterior design follows Geely’s “Galaxy Ripple” styling, with a closed front fascia, full-width LED daytime running lights, and an active grille shutter. The fastback profile integrates a continuous shoulder line, while aerodynamic optimisation at 21 points yields a drag coefficient of 0.229. The sedan measures 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. Wheel options range from 17 to 19 inches, and six body colours are available.

Inside, the Galaxy A7 adopts a wraparound cockpit design, with three colour schemes inspired by West Lake landscapes. Standard features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, Flyme Auto infotainment system with smartphone connectivity (HiCar, Flyme Link, ICCOA, and CarPlay via OTA), and a choice of 14.6-inch or 15.4-inch central screens depending on trim. Higher trims add a 16.6-inch head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio.

Safety equipment includes a high-strength “cage” body structure, six airbags, and varying levels of driver assistance. Entry variants use an L2 suite with five cameras and two millimetre-wave radars. At the same time, higher trims employ Geely’s G-Pilot H3 suite, with 11 cameras, three radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and a Journey 6 chip enabling highway navigation assist, full-scene automated parking, and future OTA upgrades for city NOA and emergency evasive steering.

The cabin offers 950 mm rear legroom, 132 mm knee clearance, and 535 litres of luggage capacity, expandable to 988 litres with the rear seats folded. Top trims add ventilated, heated, and massaging front seats. The suspension setup consists of front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link arrangement, with CST 2.0 braking to reduce pitch during emergency stops.
