US SEC and Gemini reach a principled resolution on Gemini Earn lawsuit
Internet reports that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Gemini have reached a "resolution in principle" over the multi-year lawsuit over the Gemini Earn crypto lending project. The plan is expected to completely end the lawsuit, but it still requires final approval from the SEC. Specific terms have not yet been disclosed. The SEC sued Gemini and Genesis Global Capital in 2023, accusing them of providing unregistered securities to retail investors. Gemini was founded in 2014 and recently raised $425 million in a Nasdaq IPO.
