Internet reports that on May 30, Netflix announced that it would launch an eight-episode limited series about the FTX scandal,"The Altruists". The series will be produced by Higher Ground, a production company founded by former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. The drama tells the story of two young idealists who try to quickly reshape the global financial system, only to end up being involved in a conspiracy to misappropriate approximately $8 billion. As a result, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison for fraud, and Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, was sentenced to 2 years.
