Third suspect in New York's Bitcoin kidnapping case surrenders himself

William Duplessie, a man suspected of conspiring to kidnap and torture Italian cryptocurrency investors in Manhattan, surrendered himself to New York police on Tuesday, Internet reported. The case was allegedly aimed at forcing victim Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan to hand over his Bitcoin wallet key through "physical and psychological abuse." Carturan was imprisoned for nearly three weeks since May 6,"beaten, hung from the top floor of a five-story building, and threatened with a gun", and eventually managed to escape the police. Police said the case reflected the growing trend of violent attacks against encryption users.
