Trump administration's cuts in U.S. scientific research funding arouses public outrage, 16 U.S. states file lawsuits

Internet reports that 16 U.S. states, including New York, California, Illinois and New Jersey, filed a lawsuit in the federal court in Manhattan, New York on the 28th local time, seeking to prevent the Trump administration from significantly cutting federal funding for scientific research and related projects to increase diversity in science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). According to reports, the attorneys general of those states said the Trump administration has no power to limit research funding or cancel Congression-authorized diversification projects provided by the National Science Foundation.
