Huawei's Aito M8 EV officially launched, starting at 50,000 USD with 100 kWh CATL battery and 705km range.

The Huawei–Seres collaborated brand Aito officially launched its Aito M8 EV at the HarmonyOS Smart Mobility Autumn New Product Launch Event today. The all-electric SUV is priced from 359,800 yuan (50,000 USD) to 449,800 yuan (62,500 USD), comes standard with a 100 kWh battery supplied by CATL, providing a maximum CLTC comprehensive range of up to 705 km.

The Aito M8 EV maintains the brand’s family design, featuring a Nebula integrated lighting cluster and a sleek full-width taillight. The vehicle boasts an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.255.

The M8 EV Measures 5190mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1795mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3105mm. It features a ground clearance of 220mm and an emergency wading depth of 700mm.

The cabin of the M8 EV features a triple-screen setup, and additional amenities include a compressor-equipped car refrigerator and 26 storage compartments.

The Aito M8 EV is equipped with Huawei’s intelligent driving hardware, including a 192-line LiDAR, one rear high-precision solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimetre-wave radars.

Powering the M8 EV is the new Huawei DriveONE high-voltage 7-in-1 electric drive, which supports dual-redundant power supply and is developed in-house by Huawei. Richard Yu (Yu Chengdong), Huawei Executive Director and CEO of Terminal BG, highlighted its “ultra-space-saving, ultra-powerful, and ultra-efficient range” characteristics, also noting its safety redundancy for higher-level assisted driving. According to Huawei, the Aito M8 EV’s cabin maintains a measured interior noise of just 60.8 dBA at 120 km/h.

This electric drive system boasts a 13% reduction in volume, a maximum torque of 4000 Nm, and a CLTC efficiency of 92.2%. The entry-level Aito M8 BEV has a single electric motor in the rear axle for 227 kW (304 hp). Paired with a 100 kWh ternary NMC battery, it provides 705 km of CLTC range. The 4WD variant of the M8 has a combined peak power output of 387 kW (519 hp). The same NMC battery allows this varint of the M8 to run up to 655 km under CLTC conditions.
