ZachXBT: Exchange telephone verification mechanism poses serious security risks

Internet reports that crypto detective ZachXBT commented on Coinbase's recent user data breach, pointing out that the exchange's practice of requiring phone numbers is extremely unsafe. He emphasized that scammers had resulted in the theft of large amounts of funds by forging phones and text messages that showed "Coinbase." ZachXBT said that because most people only have one phone number and many websites require it, those numbers will eventually be exposed in data breaches, making it almost impossible for unskilled users to defend against such attacks. It has been previously reported that some attackers bought Coinbase employees to obtain information, specifically targeting high-net-worth account users with 7-8 digit assets.
