Three U.S. CFTC members resigned one after another this week, Goldsmith Romero will leave office on May 31

Internet reported that Christy Goldsmith Romero, a Democratic member of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), announced that she would leave on May 31, becoming the third member to announce her resignation this week. "It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with my fellow commissioners," she said in the statement. She had previously said she would leave after President Trump's nomination for CFTC chairman Brian Quintenz was confirmed. Goldsmith Romero's departure follows Republican Commissioner Caroline Pham, who also said on Thursday that she would step down after Quintenz's confirmation. Earlier this week, Republican Commissioner Summer Mersinger also announced that he would leave his post on May 30 and become CEO of the Blockchain Association.
