Aito, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group, has added four-seat variants to its flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle) model, the M9, alongside existing five-seat and six-seat configurations.

The four-seat M9 was rolled out at last night's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) fall product launch event, offering one extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variant and one battery electric vehicle (BEV).

Their starting prices are RMB 559,800 ($78,670) and RMB 589,800 respectively.

These new variants share the same exterior design and core specifications as the five- and six-seat models, but introduce a new purple exterior color option.

The four-seat M9 EREV features a 1.5-liter engine serving as an extended-range generator, delivering a maximum power output of 112 kW. It is paired with dual electric motors producing 165 kW and 200 kW respectively.

It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and achieves a top speed of 200 km/h.

The M9 EREV features a 52-kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 266 kilometers.

The BEV variant features a front motor with 160 kW maximum power and a rear motor with 230 kW maximum power, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, the four-seat M9 BEV utilizes a 100-kWh ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL, delivering a CLTC range of 605 kilometers.

The M9 BEV can add 150 km of range with a 5-minute charge.

The M9 was initially launched on December 26, 2023, as Aito's third model following the M5 and M7.

Initially offered only in six-seat variants, Aito rolled out the five-seat versions for the M9 on September 10, 2024.

Aito launched the 2025 model year M9 in March, continuing to offer five-seat and six-seat configurations. Seven trim options are available, with starting prices ranging from RMB 469,800 to RMB 569,800.

At yesterday's event, Aito also launched the updated M7 SUV starting at RMB 279,800, securing over 10,000 firm orders within the first five minutes.
