Trump issued a dismissal warning to Federal Reserve Governor Cook: He would not resign due to threats

Internet reports that according to CCTV News, US President Trump said during a visit to a White House-themed museum in Washington that if Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook did not resign voluntarily, he would fire her. "If she doesn't resign, I will fire her." In response, Cook stressed that he "has no intention of resigning due to threats" and said he would not give in to external pressure. Trump has recently increased pressure on decision-makers of the Federal Reserve System. In addition to repeatedly criticizing Powell for his insistence on not cutting interest rates, he posted a post on social media on the 20th, asking Federal Reserve Governor Cook to resign, citing problems with her mortgages in Michigan and Georgia. However, Cook denied the allegations and reiterated that he would continue to perform his duties.
