Ethereum Joint Venture: Ethereum is a substitute for Bitcoin, not a competitor
Online reports that at the Consensus 2025 conference, Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio said that Ethereum "is not meant to be a competitor to Bitcoin, but to be an alternative." Looking back on Ethereum's early development, he said: "We can feel it is rising." Di Iorio first entered the crypto world by advocating Bitcoin and met Vitalik Buterin when hosting a Bitcoin party in Toronto in 2012. He emphasized: "Ethereum may eventually surpass Bitcoin in market capitalisation... With the number of use cases and the value Ethereum can create, I think it has such an opportunity."
