People familiar with the matter: Bank of Japan Q4 may slightly reduce purchases of ultra-long-term Japanese government bonds "
According to online reports, three people familiar with the matter revealed that despite the recent rise in ultra-long-term Japanese government bond yields, the Bank of Japan may still slightly reduce its purchases of such bonds in the fourth quarter. Such measures will be in line with market expectations and in line with the Bank of Japan's guidance to prioritize reducing the size of bond purchases of maturities with a high proportion of total issuance. They said the Bank of Japan would make a final decision on September 30, which could be affected by the results of the September 17 auction of 20-year bonds and the volatility of ultra-long-term Japanese government bonds. If the Bank of Japan does reduce its purchases of ultra-long-term government bonds by then, this will be the second adjustment since the reduction in the second quarter. (Jin Shi)
