Senator Lummis: U.S. Bitcoin Reserve Fund 'ready to start'

Internet reports that U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, who is friendly to cryptocurrencies, has confirmed that although legislative red tape has prevented funding for the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), it can now start "anytime." In Monday's X post, Lummis said that while legislation remains "struggling", thanks to "President Trump, funding for SBR can start at any time." The specific financing method of SBR is not yet clear. According to the government's official fact sheet, the reserve will initially be "capitalized with bitcoins held by the Ministry of Finance," which are seized through civil or criminal proceedings. It then pointed out that additional BTC could be obtained through budget-neutral avenues that "do not impose incremental costs to U.S. taxpayers."
