Coinbase: From now on, U.S. users can legally participate in crypto perpetual contract transactions through the Coinbase platform

According to online reports, Coinbase officially stated that starting from July 21, 2025, U.S. users can trade CFTC regulated perpetual futures through Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM). This type of derivatives with the largest trading volume in the world will land on the platform. Coinbase said that for years, U.S. cryptocurrency traders have only watched as international peers use one of the most popular tools in the digital asset market-perpetual futures. These innovative derivatives provide higher leverage and do not have to deal with monthly maturity issues, accounting for 90% of global cryptocurrency trading volume. Due to the complex regulatory environment, U.S. traders have been unable to participate. But that situation is about to change.
