Coinbase: Will not pay $20 million ransom demands it receives

According to online reports, according to Coinbase official disclosure, hackers stole some personal information of less than 1% of active users by bribing overseas customer service personnel, but did not involve passwords, private keys or funds. Coinbase refused to pay US$20 million in extortion money and set up a US$20 million reward fund to track down the attackers. Affected customers will receive compensation if they are deceived into transferring money due to fraud. The Prime account has not been affected and the case is being investigated in cooperation with law enforcement. The damage from this extortion incident is estimated to be approximately US$180 million to US$400 million.
