NVIDIA launches NVQLink interconnection system to integrate AI supercomputing and quantum computing
According to online reports, according to the Wall Street Journal, although NVDA.O has not independently developed quantum computers, CEO Huang Renxun is betting that the company will play a key role in the future development of the technology. In a keynote speech at the GTC conference in Washington, he officially unveiled the NVQLink Interconnection System-a technology that connects quantum processors to the AI supercomputers they need to operate efficiently. "NVQLink is the 'Rosetta Stone' that connects quantum and classical supercomputers," Huang Renxun said. Quantum processors represent a new computing paradigm that uses the principles of quantum physics to solve problems that traditional computers cannot solve, showing great potential in fields from scientific exploration to financial modeling. However, to realize its commercial value, quantum processors must be integrated with high-performance classic computers: the latter performs calculations that quantum devices cannot do and corrects their inherent errors-the "error correction" process. Tim Costa, general manager of Nvidia's Industrial Engineering and Quantum division, admitted that existing connection solutions fail to meet the speed and scale requirements required for rapid large-scale error correction. Nvidia claims its new interconnected technology is the first solution to fulfill the promise of large-scale quantum computing.
