Caixin: Qian Zhimin's guilty plea does not directly determine the whereabouts of the 61,000 BTC. Civil recovery will still be promoted in the British Supreme Court.
Internet reports that after the case of Qian Zhimin, the protagonist of the 60,000 bitcoins case, turned around and pleaded guilty unexpectedly in court, Caixin wrote an analysis saying that Qian Zhimin's confession did not directly determine the whereabouts of the approximately 61,000 bitcoins involved in the case. The civil recovery process will continue to advance in the British High Court. Because the High Court hearing is still ongoing, she will not apply to initiate forfeiture proceedings. According to the process, the High Court will give priority to removing the part that can be proved to be the victim and return it; only then will the remaining unclaimed assets not be collected into the national treasury under the court's ruling; and finally, the stage of whether they will be shared with China will enter.
