Internet reports that French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau will convene cryptocurrency industry professionals on Friday to discuss how to prevent the increasing number of kidnappings against cryptocurrency entrepreneurs. The move was a quick response to an incident in central Paris in which militants tried to kidnap the daughter and grandson of the CEO of a cryptocurrency trading platform. Recently, there have been many violent kidnappings against cryptocurrency tycoons in France, including the vicious incident in which Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped and his finger cut off. The interior minister said he would take measures to protect the safety of cryptocurrency practitioners and their families, while promising to track down criminals "no matter where they hide."
