Tariff policy is "childish", Trump rewrites trade rules 50+ times in 100 days

According to online reports, according to statistics from the Washington Post, since taking office on January 20, Trump administration officials have announced more than 50 new or revised tariff policies. Trump has signed more than a dozen tariff-related executive orders, about one a week-one for Mexican drugs and immigrants, another for Canada, and several have modified previously issued executive orders. Some of his plans have extremely short lifetimes: the president's six tariff announcements (such as tariffs on dairy imports and trade in Colombia) lasted no more than a week before being revised, and some even less than a day (the White House said this was because they achieved the expected results). It is hard to say what this policy turmoil has achieved. Owen, an economist at Dartmouth College who specializes in economic history, said this volatility reflects the difficulty of achieving goals in an extremely short period of time.
