Former Norway State Secretary Sorberg will serve as Secretary-General of the Bitcoin Policy Institute
Morten Søberg, former secretary of state at Norway's Ministry of Finance, member of the Supervisory Committee of Norway's Central Bank and head of public affairs at SpareBank 1, will become secretary general of the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025, the network reported. The agency aims to oppose the Bitcoin ban, promote legislative openness, and raise public awareness of Bitcoin and the monetary system. Currently, BPI has received approximately 1.517 BTC (approximately 1.6 million Norway kroner) donations and has 121 paying members.
