Starknet announced that it will launch BTC pledge on September 30, shortening the release cycle to 7 days
According to online reports, Starknet posted on social platforms saying that BTC pledges will be launched online on September 30. This upgrade will allow Bitcoin holders to pledge on Starknet to help ensure network security and obtain rewards. The launch parameters are as follows: BTC pledge weight is set to 0.25 (BTC=25% consensus weight, STRK accounts for the remaining 75%) When launched, WBTC, LBTC, tBTC and SolvBTC are supported. Other BTC packaged assets can be added through governance. In addition, the release cycle will be shortened from 21 days to 7 days, allowing pledgers and principals to operate faster and more flexibly. To enable this upgrade, pledge contracts will be suspended for several hours at around 10 a.m.(GMT+3) on September 15 to allow the BTC pledge mechanism to be integrated into Starknet. After the upgrade is complete, validators and builders can deploy the BTC delegation pool and start integrating with the protocol, and rewards will be released starting September 30.
