Inventor of RSA encryption algorithm: The world would be better without cryptocurrency
According to online reports, Adi Shamir, co-inventor of the RSA encryption algorithm and Turing Award winner, said at the RSA Security Conference in San Francisco that "the world would be better without cryptocurrency." He pointed out that despite the lofty ideals set out in the Bitcoin white paper, currently cryptocurrencies are highly concentrated on a few large exchanges, are mainly used for speculation rather than payments, and contribute to the spread of malware.
